Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to get to know the village, book and come to us.
If something on the site or at the village isn't accessible to you, tell us, and we'll fix it or find another way.
The website
The site follows the Israeli standard IS 5568 at level AA, based on the W3C's WCAG 2.1 guidelines.
What we did:
- You can use the whole site with a keyboard alone.
A frame shows where you are, and every page starts with a “Skip to content” link. - Every page has ordered headings and clear names for its buttons and links, so a screen reader reads it correctly: Hebrew right to left, English left to right.
- Every photo has a text description, and so does every video.
The videos have no speech, so they have no captions. - The pause button at the top of every page stops the motion on the site: the videos, the animations and the cat.
If your phone or computer is set to reduce motion, the site starts without motion. - The menu, and the top of every inner page, offer three text sizes.
You can also zoom the browser to 200% without losing content. - The contrast between text and background meets the standard, including text over photos and videos.
We tested the site on 31 October 2026 in Chrome and Safari, on iPhone, Android and desktop: with the automated checker axe, and by hand for keyboard use, zoom and the page structure that screen readers read.
What isn't accessible yet
- The health declaration forms belong to SSI and to the Israel Diving Authority, and they aren't accessible to screen readers.
If it's hard for you to fill them in, call us or message us on WhatsApp and we'll help. - Some links lead to other sites
(WhatsApp, Google Maps, Waze, SSI and the social networks).
Their accessibility is outside our control.
At the village
The village has accessible parking, accessible access and entrance to the village, an accessible room, and accessible toilets and showers.
The beach and the water are accessible.
The sea is across from the village, and on the way you cross a road with car traffic.
Getting here
Per Diving Authority directives, diving services for people with disabilities are provided by specialized organizations only; please contact the Etgarim Association regarding these services.
